About the Forum
The Axens/Technip Energies FCC Forum has been described as “the most significant fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) event in the industry.” For refiners, this event features presentations and workshops led by subject matter experts in FCC technology, methods to improve energy efficiency, operate more sustainably, ways to transition from fuel production to higher-margin chemicals, and much more.
HPX6000 OH2 Fully Lined Hydrocarbon Processing Pump
The combination of abrasives and high temperatures is a destructive force that can drastically shorten the lifespan of process equipment. This is particularly problematic in refineries, where highly abrasive slurries are pumped through equipment at extreme temperatures of up to 400°C (750°F). The issue is most pronounced in cracking units, especially FCC units, where refiners require pumps that offer maximum reliability, slurry-handling capabilities and unparalleled performance.
The Flowserve Lawrence Pumps® HPX6000 is uniquely suited to meet this challenge, thanks to its innovative ‘pump within a pump’ design. This concept features a renewable, bolted metallic liner that protects the API pressure casing from abrasive wear. As the liner wears, it can be adjusted to restore its original hydraulic performance. When the liner is completely worn out, it can be replaced, allowing the pump to be quickly returned to service. This design ensures that only the alloy liner — not the expensive casing — needs to be replaced, minimizing downtime and costs.
