The 2017 Flowserve Dallas Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon, hosted on Wednesday, August 30, is an annual tradition that “kicks off” the Dallas Cowboys’ professional football season. Cowboys players, coaches, former football legends and numerous corporate sponsors like Flowserve are on hand at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to support this philanthropic celebration, which is one of Happy Hill Farm Academy’s premiere fundraising events held every August.
The event, hosted by the NFL Alumni Association, will provide media, friends and fans with a close-up look at the Cowboys as they head into the 2017-2018 season. Flowserve began its annual tradition of supporting The Courage House at Happy Hill Farm by sponsoring the Dallas Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon, with all proceeds benefitting the local school dedicated to helping at-risk children.
Flowserve has sponsored the event every year since 2006 and is committed to supporting Happy Hill Farm’s mission, providing a second chance to children who are experiencing family, academic or behavioral difficulties. Support of this fundraising event is part of Flowserve’s cultural and community fabric and reflects a core company value to improve the lives of children throughout the world and give back to the communities where Flowserve associates live and work.
Happy Hill Farm provides high-potential/low-opportunity boys and girls from around the world a home away from home, along with a world-class, character-building education and life-changing experiences. The mission is to train and educate compassionate young adults and put them on the path to becoming future leaders with a desire to change the world for good. With a majority of the boarding students on scholarship, donations from the private sector are more important than ever.
Brad Sham, long-time voice of Cowboys Radio, will emcee the event. Several awards will be given, including the following: 2017 MVP Awards for Offense and Defense; the Tom Landry Legend Award – given to a former Cowboys player; and the Ed Block Courage Award – given to a player who has sustained a career-threatening injury and is again playing at full strength.
