Thomas Simpson Founds Simpson & Thompson
Flowserve's legacy begins when Thomas Simpson founds Simpson & Thompson. His sons eventually take over to found James Simpson & Co., which later becomes Worthington Pump Co.
1916
Duriron Castings Company Introduces Duriron
The Duriron Castings Company unveils Duriron, a highly corrosion-resistant high-silicon iron alloy. The company renamed as Durco in 1997 and was instrumental in Flowserve’s creation.
1950
Durametallic Corp. Manufactures Mechanical Seals
Mechanical seals are manufactured at Durametallic Corporation in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Durametallic was later acquired by Duriron in January 1996.

Flowserve Is Created
Flowserve is created with the merger of two leading fluid motion and control companies, BW/IP and Durco International.
1999
Acquires Innovative Valve Technologies
Flowserve purchases Houston-based Innovative Valve Technologies Inc., which strengthens its place in the service sector and emerging Middle East markets.
2000
Flowserve Buys Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps
Flowserve purchases Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps, a business unit of Ingersoll-Rand Co., for $775 million, creating the world’s second largest pump company.

Flowserve Deploys QRCs Globally
Flowserve launches its service centers known as Quick Response Centers (QRCs) in strategic locations globally to provide a localized presence and support to customers.

Engineering Center for Seals Opens in Bengaluru, India
In the spirit of innovation, Flowserve opens the first of its Indian engineering centers in Bengaluru, which was later relocated to Chennai.

Flowserve Acquires SIHI Group
Flowserve acquires SIHI Group, which adds vacuum and fluid pump capability to Flowserve’s portfolio.

Budapest Engineering Center Opens
A new GTEC opens in Budapest, Hungary, to support product innovation and supply chain partnerships, delivering engineering excellence to serve customers.

Flowserve Cares Is Launched
Flowserve Cares, a global community impact program that supports communities through monetary donations, in-kind contributions and volunteers, rolls out.

Announces Emissions Reduction Commitment
Flowserve formally commits to reducing carbon emission intensity by 40% by 2030 and signs the WASH pledge, committing to safe water, sanitation and hygiene access in all its facilities.

RedRaven Launches
Flowserve launches RedRaven, an Internet of Things solution that allows customers to predict failures, fix issues, increase productivity and improve energy efficiency.
