Flowserve Policy for United States Vendors

Completed Forms W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) are required to be on file with Flowserve prior to any payments being made to a United States vendor.

Prior to making any payment to a vendor, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations require that a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) be obtained from the vendor.  In addition, new regulations also require that you establish to Flowserve that you are a U.S. person.   Completed Forms W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) are required to be on file with Flowserve prior to any payments being made to a United States vendor.  Forms W-9 are required for every United States person, which includes individuals who are U.S. citizens or U.S. resident aliens, and entities created or organized in the United States or under the laws of the United States , i.e., partnerships, corporations, companies, associations, estates, and trusts.

Please use the latest version of the Form W-9 available on the IRS website (Form W-9 and Instructions) In addition, Flowserve requires that each Form W-9 be signed whether or not the specific form would require signature in accordance with the form instructions.  In addition, be aware the Flowserve will “verify” the number with IRS prior to entering it into our Accounts Payable system.  You will be contacted if we are unable to match the vendor’s name and number on the IRS website and your payments will be delayed accordingly.

There is no expiration date associated with the Form W-9, so once a Form W-9 is received and a verified/valid Taxpayer Identification Number is entered into our system, further documentation will not be required unless you have an organizational change that invalidates the information you initially provided.  If such an event occurs, please submit a new Form W-9 within 30 days of such event.

Please send completed and signed Forms W-9 to [email protected].  Any questions relating to Form W-9 may also be sent to this website. If you prefer to talk to us live, please include a name, phone number and time availability for a telephone call.
