Villach, Austria, celebrates safety, operations milestones
The Flowserve Villach Flow Control Division Oil and Gas sector celebrates its 10-year anniversary
Safety milestones and Flowserve anniversaries are valued celebrations. Flowserve associates all around the world work hard to make our facilities the best in the industry. In Austria, our Flowserve Villach operation is an excellent example of this initiative. The Villach FCD Oil and Gas sector recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, and 1,100,000 hours without a lost-time accident – undoubtedly a great achievement worth celebrating.
The Villach operation became part of Flowserve in 2002 as part of the Invensys acquisition. In the past 10 years exceptional achievements have been made in both operations and safety. Since the integration of the Villach operation into the Flowserve family, the revenues of the facility have tripled, additional investments have been made in order to significantly improve operational performance, and safety performance has been a primary focus.
For this special anniversary occasion, the facility hosted a celebration in honor of its employees, safety successes and a new assembly line., Vice Mayor of Villach, was present to witness the first assembly line for large control valves up to 30-inch, which also included a new hydro pressure test bench, sand blasting cell, painting cell and several drying chambers. This $1.5 million investment was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which officially turned over the new assembly to the facility.
“In honor of our 10-year anniversary, we felt it was an important strategic initiative to further invest in our Flowserve facility,” said general manager, Villach operations, during his speech. “We will see continuous improvement in efficiency as well as in our safety metrics. Nothing better could have happened to the Villach operation and its employees than becoming part of Flowserve Corporation.”
