Circulating Water

A typical power plant condenser is filled with tubes flowing circulating water on the inside. The surface of the tube is cool relative to the steam flowing over the outside of the tubes causing the steam to condense back into water. Heated circulating water is pumped back to its source or sent to a cooling tower to be recycled.

Flowserve offers both vertical and horizontal circulating pumps in a wide range of configurations, with hydraulics and materials to meet any application requirement. Vertical wet-pit mixed flow pumps are specifically designed for extended operation in condenser cooling service; they are offered in pull-out and non-pull-out designs. Concrete volute pumps are available for the highest capacity requirement. Various Flowserve valve types and models are available to reliably and cost efficiently handle all circulating water services including gate, globe, butterfly, plug, ball, control and check - all available in multiple configurations to satisfy the most demanding applications.
