DMX animation provides interactive learning experience

Flowserve has developed this interactive animation as an introduction to the versatile DMX multistage pump. Following an overview of the product, the user can navigate a variety of subjects, including:

• Features and Benefits: This segment consists of 11 short animated segments, each highlighting an important attribute of the DMX pump design.
• Hydraulic Fit: Examines the measures taken in the DMX design to effectively balance axial and radial hydraulic loads, even on the highest pressure applications.
• Bearing Arrangements: Here, the user is afforded a closer look at the three bearing designs available on the DMX pump and when each might be specified.
• Options and Upgrades: Provides an overview of the 18 most popular options available on the DMX pump. This section includes two short animations illustrating the inner workings behind the “destaging” and “interstage take-off” options.

While in the animation, the user navigates using a combination of the main menu at the top of the screen, as well as sub-menus along the left side.

In the Features and Benefits segment, the user has full control over the rotation of the pump on the screen, allowing a closer examination of the pump. To rotate the pump on the screen, the user holds the left mouse button down and drags the mouse side-to-side. As the pump is rotated, various clickable hotspots pop onto the screen. To view information on a particular subject, the user simply clicks the appropriate “hotspot” shown on the pump, launching the animation. To rotate the pump directly to the desired hotspot, the user can simply click the appropriate subject in the menu on the left. After each animation is viewed, the left side menu will gray out that item, indicating it has already been viewed.

The Bearing Arrangements segment allows the user additional control over the various bearing housing arrangements, offering closer views of each design.
