In addition to the vast and variable training space, the LRC also has four state-of-the-art classrooms where groups of 20 students receive the theory and reference they need to get the most out of their hands-on experience. Each participant spends the large part of each classroom day disassembling, operating, testing, and troubleshooting process control equipment and systems.

Unlike other theory-driven programs, Flowserve uses these classrooms to provide participants with a deep, practical understanding of the way fluid management systems and equipment work.

In the 2300 square foot Static Lab, participants have access to the latest equipment from manufacturers around the world. A wide range of pumps, valves and seals give participants the chance to work with the equipment they encounter in their everyday work environment. These experiments help them reach higher levels of competence in hands-on repair, root-cause of failure analysis, material identification, selection, installation, and other vital troubleshooting skills.

Because "seeing is believing", the LRC's four impressive 900 square foot Power Labs are filled with innovative see-through training aids such as glass flowmeters, plexi-glass suction lines, extensive gauges, vibration monitoring equipment and unique clear acrylic pumps. With these tools, students learn first-hand how to prevent pumps, seals, and control valves from failing.
