New Edward Univalve® in the F92 Alloy for Supercritical Steam Applications

One of the most trusted valves from Flowserve is now available in the Grade F92 material to handle the power industry's most extreme conditions.

Whether considering a direct replacement for existing plant valves or supporting the construction of new supercritical and ultra supercritical thermal plants, a primary goal remains the same - improve heat rate and reduce plant emissions by increasing overall operating efficiency. One of the most effective ways for plant managers to accomplish this is by using very high pressure and temperature steam in the specially designed boiler (around 250Bar, 565C or 3600psi, 1050F and above). These intense pressures and temperatures require high performance alloys, such as A182 F92, for valves located in the main steam pipes.

The Flowserve Edward Univalve has evolved through a series of improvements. The addition of the valve in the F92 alloy provides coal burning power plants an offering that maintains high creep strength, low thermal expansion rates and resists thermal fatigue.

This new univalve can be used as a direct replacement for existing valves or to support the construction of new supercritical thermal plants - a technology of choice for future electricity needs.
