Flowserve opens a new Learning Resource Center in Desio, Italy, designed to offer plant engineers, operators, reliability experts and maintenance technicians with a balanced combination of hands-on training and operational theory for pump, seal and valve equipment and systems.
DALLAS, TEXAS, August 3, 2010 – Flowserve (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, today announced the recent opening of a new Learning Resource Center in Desio, Italy. Under the direction of Flowserve Educational Services, this new state-of-the-art facility is designed to offer plant engineers, operators, reliability experts and maintenance technicians with a balanced combination of hands-on training and operational theory for pump, seal and valve equipment and systems.
The opening of the new Desio facility furthers the commitment of Flowserve to support its customers through a global network of technologically advanced Learning Resource Centers, including state-of-the-art facilities in: Irving, Texas, U.S.A., Suzhou, China; Tlaxcala, Mexico; Sao Caetano, Brazil; and Singapore. At these centers, course students are taught firsthand the best practices and techniques which they can implement to help maximize equipment availability and plant output, and to improve profitability. Participants also can leverage Flowserve Educational Services to improve the skill sets of their workforce.
The new facility is equipped the following:
• Technologically equipped classroom that hosts up to 24 students
• Static/power lab equipped with modern process equipment
• Test loop and control room for system experimentation
Among the upcoming courses available at the Desio Learning Resource Center are: Centrifugal Pump Fundamentals, Mechanical Seal Fundamentals, Pump and Mechanical Seal Principles, Pump System Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Pump and Seal Operator Training, and Pump and Mechanical Seal Basics.
In addition to its standard course offerings, Flowserve Educational Services provides customized training courses conducted on-site at customer locations or at any one of its global Learning Resource Centers.
