Flowserve Limitorque Actuators Chosen by SK Gas
Limitorque Smart Actuators to Operate in Oil and LPG Storage Plant
DALLAS, September 14, 2011 – Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS), a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, today announced that SK Gas Corporation has chosen Flowserve Limitorque electric actuators for its oil and liquefied petroleum gas storage tank facility in Ulsan, South Korea. More than 200 Flowserve Limitorque MX motor operated valves will be installed at the plant, with gate and ball valves.
SK Gas, which manages the storage, transportation and sale of liquefied petroleum gas, recently opened a new storage tank facility in Ulsan. The new plant is scheduled to go on line in 2012. The Ulsan facility includes oil tanks, marine loading systems, pigging systems, and control rooms. SK Gas plans to double the Ulsan storage tank facility’s capacity over the next five years.
SK Gas reviewed proposals from five potential vendors and chose Flowserve based on product quality and aftermarket support. SK Energy, another subsidiary of SK Group, has more than 3,000 Limitorque actuators installed at its facilities, and served as a reference for the order. The order was booked in the third quarter.
